The below instructions outline the correct procedure to install an external antenna with the Taggle device.

Materials:

  • Taoglas Roadmarker antenna and HP3D/SP3A Taggle device to suit.

  • Resin-Filled Heat Shrink

  • Cable Ties

  • Wire Rope (20cm)

  • Saddle Clamp to suit Taggle Device

  • Heavy Duty Adhesive

Tools:

  • Drill

  • 10mm steel drill bit

  • Screwdriver

  • Heat Gun

Procedure

Ensure lid surface is as flat as possible before mounting the road marker antenna.

Use a 10mm drill bit to drill a hole on the lid of the pit.

Feed cable through top of lid, where the antenna should neatly mount on the exterior as shown in the image.

Install sensor to meter according to relevant sensor install guide.

Slide resin-filled heat shrink over antenna cable coming out of Taggle Device.

Connect Device Antenna cable to road marker antenna cable.

Swipe Test.

Make sure the tag is appearing in the swipe page with the pit lid closed.

Refer Swipe Tool Guide

Use heavy duty adhesive to mount antenna to pit lid.

Center the heat-shrink on the antenna connection and use a heat gun to activate the heat-shrink.

Mount the Taggle Device as high as possible in pit using appropriate saddle clamp.

Use cable ties to neaten cable, being sure to leave enough slack in the cable so it’s longer than the pit tether in the next step.

If no tether exists on pit lid, use a wire rope to tether lid.

The tether must be shorter than the antenna cable.
