PR-6/PR-7 Increment Test
PR-6/PR-7 Increment Test (using Dataportal Swipe Dashboard)
Use this test to confirm that the PR-6/PR-7 sensor is generating pulses and that the connected Taggle device (ADC1/SP2A/SP3C/HP3D) is incrementing correctly.
Before you start
You’ll need:
A strong magnet
Access to the Taggle Dataportal
1. Open the Dataportal Swipe Dashboard
Log in to the Taggle Dataportal.
For general guidance, see:
https://taggle.jira.com/wiki/spaces/TKB/pages/6873055434In Dataportal, go to Survey → Swipe to open the Swipe Dashboard:
https://taggle.jira.com/wiki/spaces/TKB/pages/6908018996Make sure the Swipe Dashboard is open and visible while you perform the test so you can see your swipes and readings.
2. Perform an initial swipe on the tag - ADC1/SP2A/SP3C/HP3D
At the site, locate the Taggle tag (ADC1/SP2A/SP3C/HP3D) that is connected to the PR6 sensor and is showing signs of deficiency.
With a magnet, swipe the tag/ADC1/SP2A/SP3C/HP3D. Refer to:
Where to Swipe Taggle Devices
https://taggle.jira.com/wiki/spaces/TKB/pages/933167336/Where+to+Magnet+Swipe+Taggle+devicesOn the Dataportal Swipe dashboard:
Find the swipe you just performed.
Confirm the correct Taggle serial appears in the list.
3. Record the starting Read/Pulse value
In the swipe record for this tag, take note of the Read/Pulse (pulse counter) value in the right‑hand column.
Write this value down – this is your starting (before) reading.
4. Simulate usage on the PR-6/PR-7 sensor
On thePR-6/PR-7 sensor:
Hold down the tamper button underneath the sensor firmly.
Rotate a metal object anticlockwise on the sensor to simulate usage, for at least 10 full rotations.
Run the magnet over the probe to simulate the meter register turning.
This sequence should generate multiple pulses that the Taggle device will count.
5. Swipe again and check for increment
After simulating usage, swipe the tag/ADC1/SP2A/SP3C/HP3D again with the magnet (same method and swipe location as before).
On the Dataportal Swipe dashboard:
Locate the new swipe record for the same Taggle serial.
Check the new Read/Pulse value.
6. Result
If the tag is working correctly:
The Read/Pulse value will have increased compared to your starting reading.
This confirms that the PR-6/PR-7 sensor pulses are being counted and the Taggle device increments as expected.
If the Read/Pulse value has not increased:
The PR-6/PR-7 sensor, wiring, or Taggle device may not be incrementing correctly and may require further investigation or a warranty/fault‑finding check.
