V100/MRC1 Installation

V100/MRC1 Installation

The MRC2 is the latest model and replaces the MRC1.

Full detailed instructions are below this instructional video.

Clamp Installation:

Note: The clamp can be pre-fitted to a meter before the meter is installed or retrofitted to an existing meter in the field. There is no need to turn off the water or disconnect the meter.

Step 1: Clear around meter - Check sufficient space around the meter so that the AMR can be installed without risking damage to the probe.

Step 2: Clean Clamp - Using the brush or cloth to ensure that the brass section where the clamp fits is free of dirt.

Step 4: Attach the bottom saddle clamp – the clamp is moulded to fit the meter and should be installed snuggly around the brass collar and against the meter body.

Step 6: Adjust the saddle clamp assembly – Ensure the clamp screw/probe holes are properly aligned with the brass holes

Step 8: Screw in the M3 screw - the saddle clamp must sit flush with the surface of the water meter. If not, the screw could obstruct the installing of the MRC-1 tag

Step 10: Apply sticker seal – Where the AMR will not be installed straight away, cover probe hole completely with a sticker to prevent dirt entering the probe hole.

Step 3: Remove the black rubber seal - use a small flat head screwdriver to remove. Be cautious when removing the seal, as it is possible for part of the seal to snap off and remain in the probe hole. If this happens it will need to be removed as it will prevent the probe being fully inserted into the hole.

Step 5: Clip on the top half of the saddle - hook the top saddle clamp onto the bottom saddle clam.

Step 7: Check saddle clamp fixture – must sit flat on the water meter. Any gaps will prevent the probe from being positioned correctly

Step 9: Screw the M5 screws in - Don’t apply pressure when screwing these screws in as you could risk popping out the M5 nut

AMR Installation:

Step 1: Check Clamp Installation – Make sure the clamp is tightly fitted to the meter and there is no gap between the clamp and meter at the probe hole. If there is a gap then

  1. loosen the 2 x M5 screws then

  2. tighten the M3 screw next to the probe hole until the gap is closed,

  3. then re-tighten the M5 screws

Step 4: Insert the AMR - Insert the AMR device into the clamp

Step 6: Check correct fit Ensure the AMR is snuggly fitted to clamp and there is no gap between AMR and Clamp and meter

Step 2: Remove sticker covering probe hole

Step 3: Check for dirt in probe hole - If any dirt has entered the probe hole remove it by hand using the 5mm drill bit.

Caution: - The probe is delicate. Please ensure it is not bent during installation

Step 7: Install screw cap – Push protective cap into screw hole.
