NB-IoT Basic Overview
NB-IoT Network
NB-IoT stands for Narrow Band Internet of Things, and is a low-power, wide-area network means of communication. The standard is designed for stationary devices communicating small bits of information infrequently.
Telstra Coverage
Telstra has the largest NB-IoT network coverage in Australia, exceeding that of Optus and Vodafone.
Telstra’s NB-IoT coverage is predicated on the fact that devices are always above ground. Please take this fact into account when planning any deployment of these devices.
In limited coverage areas, the power consumption for the device may increase, and the time taken to communicate data will take longer which may impact battery life.

NB-IoT Coverage Caveats
Telstra advises that:
This is predicted coverage only and does not include indoor coverage or sub-surface areas. Coverage at any location can be affected by local building density, terrain and vegetation. Speed and performance may vary with your location, device, and demand on the network.
Telstra provides NO Service Level Guarantees to Taggle or its end users. Due to this, Taggle is not able to provide any SLA’s or Guarantees to its customers using the NB-IoT network.
